      • Who runs the programs
        • Berkeley Hillel
          • Past 4 years, Berkeley Hillel has taken groups to Mississippi and Louisiana to aid with hurricane relief, working with The Inter-faith Disaster Task Force and National Relief Network.
          • Winter 2010-2011, join Berkeley students for a winter break service learning trip to Montevideo, Uruguay! A week of building houses, visiting the Jewish community in Montevideo, and great bonding! For more info, visit: http://pages.berkeleyhillel.org/programs/alternative-breaks/
        • Cal Corps Public Service Center
          • Spring Break student-led alternative breaks allow students to “work, eat, and live with the people who are directly impacted by racism, poverty, and other injustices addressed in pre-trip De Cal courses.” Each break is a memorable, fun, and rewarding experience and allows students to focus on either immigration, health and education, public health, or poverty.

          • A non-profit student led initiative that provides health care at no cost throughout communities in Honduras.           • Project RISHI has started a new chapter at UC Berkeley!! A non-profit organization, project RISHI seeks to improve the quality of life in rural Indian villages. Projects include “medical initiatives, educational efforts, agricultural support and correction of social problems.” (Project RISHI, UCSD).
        • One Heart Source - Tanzania
          • One Heart Source runs 8 and 4-week programs to fight the cycle of HIV/AIDS and poverty in Tanzania. Volunteers work and stay in villages and become integral members of the community.
